Frequently Asked Questions

How long does the results last?

Everyones teeth whiten differently because everyone’s enamel is a different colour. Some peoples teeth will whiten better than others and last longer than others. Factors also include their diet and lifestyle habits.
Typically After 2 sessions which include your Initial session and a top up 4-6 weeks after your first session to get the best results, your teeth will generally last anywhere from 4-6 months before you will need to do a maintenance top up session to keep them pearly white.

Is teeth whitening safe ?

Yes, teeth whitening when done by a professional with correct training is completely safe. At Pretty pearly whites we only use premium 6% HP which is ADA approved.

How many sessions do I need?

Depending on how stained your teeth are we will tailor a plan to get you the best results. Heavily stained teeth will generally require 2 sessions -Ultra glow up treatment over 2 weeks to lift those stubborn stains followed by a top up 4-6 weeks after to optimise long lasting results. Moderate to light stained teeth will generally require 1 session followed by a top up 4-6 weeks after their first session to optimise long lasting results.

If I have front veneers or composites can I still get teeth whitening done?

There is no way to change the colour of a veneer or composite bonding, but we can however match your natural teeth to your veneers or composites. We have a veneers matching appointment specially for this treatment. We may be able to lift residual staining from composite veneers but we can never change the colour of the a dental material. Porcelain veneers however never stain and they will keep their colour hence the heavy price tag with them.

Can I drink coffee after I have my teeth whitened?

We advise you not to have any staining food/drinks post your session for 48hrs, this includes coffee. If you can’t go without coffee for those 2 days, then we ask you to drink through a straw to minimise what goes on your teeth while you're on the white diet post a teeth whitening session.

Will I get any sensitivity?

At Pretty Pearly Whites we use a 6% HP ADA approved gentle gel, which means you won’t get any sensitivity during or after the session. For some sensitive clients you may experience some mild sensitivity which will pass within 24hrs. The stronger the gel the higher risk of getting sensitivity during a teeth whitening session. Our approach is a more gentle slower way of getting your teeth whitened, so its a lot more comfortable for our clients while still achieving amazing results.

Do I need to get a dental clean done before I get my teeth whitened?

Its recommend to get a clean done every 6 months by a dental professional to stay on top go your oral hygiene. We advise once you get a clean done we ask you also wait 1-2 weeks before getting your teeth whitened to avoid any sensitivity during our session.
